You receive an FAA ATP-CTP completion certificate, which admits you to the ATP Multi-Engine written exam. The ATP-CTP certificate does not expire; the written test pass is valid 60 months.
Simulator training is in Fort Lauderdale, FL on Airbus A320 devices (FTD and FFS A320 Level D), the same platform used for airline crews.
Install Zoom, ensure a stable internet connection, and keep your camera on for attendance. FAA inspectors may join to monitor; classes aren’t delayed for individual tech issues.
No for the online ground school. A U.S. visa and TSA approval are required only for the simulator sessions in the U.S.
You have up to 60 days after finishing ground school to complete the 10 hours of simulator training. Sessions are often scheduled on weekends, and sim periods are conducted in pairs when possible.
The virtual ground school runs 4 days × ~8 hours/day, typically starting 10:00 AM EST. It’s designed to finish faster than the in-person 5-day format.
It’s the same FAA Part 141 ATP-CTP ground school delivered live via Zoom (30 hours), followed by 10 hours of in-person simulator training. You interact with instructors in real time and receive the same FAA certificate accepted for the ATP written.
